Super Hero Acadamy AKA THE BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER!

For Caleb's 6th birthday, we had a Super Hero Party.  I found the idea to do a 'Super Hero Acadamy' on Tipjunkie.  The idea was GREAT so I just tweaked it to make it my own.  Each birthday guest got a card with 10 requirements to become a certified Super Hero.  After accomplishing each activity, they got a sticker.

Jessa made this awesome picture to put on our door to greet guests.
 Ready for the party!

Jessa and Caleb colored some Super Hero pictures to set the mood.  I love Aquaman.
 Doesn't he look cool???
Each guest got a cape, mask, and belt.  The capes were an old blue sheet I cut up, and then I used Pelon Iron On to put the letters on the capes.  The kids got to color their belt buckles, which I just stapled to a piece of material.

Along with coloring their belts, the kids gave them self a super hero name, described their super hero powers, and drew a picture of what they would look like as a super hero.  Caleb was 'super Caleb' and his power was shooting coals out of his hands that would start on fire.  My favorite was Tyler - his super powers were 'jumping on beds and couches.' I asked him how his mom felt about that.
He said she felt great about it.  :) ha ha...too funny
 Tyler
KC - one of his powers was 'twin powers' the power to duplicate yourself!!! Cool...I totally need that power.
David - the Hulk, with SUPER STRENGTH and Super Reed
I told Reed he had nice handwriting and he said "well, my mom was a 1st and 3rd grade teacher." :)
 Lucky boy.
Lukas and Jessa.  Jessa could shoot rainbows from her super hero belt.  Lukas observed her rainbows and drew his own rainbow...:)
Time for Super Hero practice!  Leap Buildings in a Single Bound!
Here I am telling everyone it's time to practice jumping.  Because who knows when you'll need to jump buildings while chasing the bad guy?  Also a stern lecture on only jumping from the designated steps...we don't want to send anyone to the ER.

Tyler bravely leaps into the pillows!  We had our futon mattress folded in half, plus about every pillow in the house in this pile.  Shane and I jumped first to check for safety.
 Lukas
 Jessa
Reed (he really wanted to get a running start, but I stopped him, fearing broken legs!)
Time for Beat the Bat Cave!!!
Each Super Hero had to crawl through the dark tunnel and retrieve their Kryptonite Stick.  We had a flashlight available if the kids wanted it.  They really thought this set up was cool.
David emerges unscathed with his kryptonite! (glow stick)
Go Super Heroes!
David, Reed, Tyler, Jessa, Caleb, Teige, Lukas, KC

The Spider Man Climb (You've got to practice climbing, what if your mom is stuck at the top of a burning building?) At the top of the ladder the kids grabbed a can of silly string (sticky webs to vaporize a villain).

 Vaporize a Villain
The kids really loved spraying the silly spray!
We had pictures of villains on the fence and they sprayed away.

Cross the Sand Swamp! Our flooded sandbox.  Good job Reed!
Way to go birthday boy!

Drive a super hero car!!! This was so much fun!  Some of our guests could use a little practice driving...but their was lots of laughing!

David and Reed - Brothers and Best Buds!
Joker Show Down!  Knock'em down, KC!

 Showing off Super Hero muscles...
 Too tough!

Animal Rescue...each Super Hero had to quietly sneak up the playhouse ladder, grab a stuffed animal, and slide to safety.  We pretended if they were too loud they would wake the Joker!  They likes tip toeing and being sneaky.
 My Caleb!
 Super Jessa!
 Cake
Jessa giving Caleb a special rock she found.  :)
 Teige

Playing with presents after the party.  It was a fun, fun day.  Happy Birthday Caleb, you're my favorite super hero!!!! I love you!
